IP geolocation is one of the factors used by CoIP Platform to verify the identity of an endpoint (zLink, Gateway Proxy, or MSG) connects to zCenter. Using IP geolocation, you can create Applications, Services, or Device Groups that are verified to be physically within a certain region.
Currently, the only IP geolocation service supported is Maxmind GeoIP2.
The IP geolocation service may be configured from Advanced Mode > Service Management > Third Party Web Services.
Enter the information for your Maxmind GeoIP2 API key and click 'Test' to verify; once verified, click 'Save' to save the results.
Once verified, zCenter will automatically query and log the location of endpoints based on their perceived public IP address. Note that in many cases, this address will be the IP address of the Internet gateway.
