Prerequisites:
Endpoint is running a Linux (RHEL/CentOS, Debian/Ubuntu, SUSE)
Port 443 outbound
Port 22 inbound (if you don't have access to the physical server or the host machine of your VM or Container
Installation Procedure:
Find your target server pool in Cloud Server Pools under Project Provisioning in your target zCenter
Click on "Cloud Servers" to the right of target server pool
Click on "Manual Registration" tab
Choose your OS from the drop-down menu
Give an IP address and SSH Port, if those fields are available
Click "Register" in the middle of the page
Download the zLink installation package (tar for Linux, ZIP for Windows) to a place you can remember
Transfer the installation package to the target Endpoint
Unpack the installation package
Run "install_zlink.sh"
Within the install_zlink.sh script, depending on your SSH authentication method, provide a sudo-privileged username and password or username and private key (i.e. a .pem file) for your Endpoint
Troubleshooting:
Issue | Solution |
User does not have sudo privileges | Start "install_zlink.sh" as a sudo-privileged user or as root |
Could not use private key | Change the private key file's permissions to 400 |
Could not download dependency package | Check if target Endpoint can reach (e.g. PING) the target CoIP Controller Gateway |
