Zentera CoIP Access platform supports many different operating systems for both clients and servers. As more operating system and package management variants become available and adopted by our users, we continually extend the OS support of the platform.
Out-of-the-box support for Linux Mint was added in version 8.2.1 of the platform. In version 8.1.x and prior, the following manual steps can be performed to enable Linux Mint OS to run the CoIP Launcher.
The steps entail logging into an otherwise unused account on a designated demo zCenter running version 8.2, to facilitate the download and installation the relevant client components. After this, the client machine is able to use those components to log into the 8.1.x zCenter.

Launcher components should then download and install automatically. If this lasts for more than a minute, additional steps may be required. This may sometimes be necessary, for example, if the endpoint or browser security settings prevent automatic or prompted execution of downloaded files. Please refer to the Manual Install section if this manual step is necessary.
Manual Installation
If the automated installation did not succeed, the below steps can be performed manually.
Select the “Download Launcher” link at the bottom of the Launcher screen
In Terminal navigate to the Download directory and run “tar xvf coiplauncher.<unique-string>.tar.gz”
Please note in some cases, it is necessary to set the execute file permissions on the downloaded file, using "sudo chmod a+x ./coiplauncher.<unique-string>.run”
Execute CoIP Launcher NOT using sudo “./coiplauncher.<unique-string>.run”
Creating directory coiplauncher-2 Verifying archive integrity... 100% MD5 checksums are OK. All good. Uncompressing Zentera CoIP Launcher 2.0 100% coiplauncher-2 is installed in /home/<user>/Zentera/coiplauncher-2
Log out and back into the Launcher portal. Make sure to select “Open xdg-open” button if prompted
Troubleshooting Linux Installation
If not able to run “./coiplauncher.<unique-string>.run”
DO NOT USE sudo. This must be ran as local user.
Verify “coiplauncher.<unique-string>.run” has execute permission
Run command "sudo chmod a+x coiplauncher.<unique-string>.run"
If getting a warning - “zenity is not installed”
This is indicated by the below warning dialog. Follow directions to install zenity and login to Launcher again.
