Symptom
Admin of zCenter may receive email notification about "Critical Policy Enablement Fail" in the event of Policy Configuration Failure. The status of the notification describes "ZPFilter driver is not found (Windows only)." Be advised that the situation only takes place on Windows platform.
Issue
This issue may happen when a zLink-enabled Windows server/desktop/VM is receiving security policy update that requires ZPFilter driver which is missing or not installed correctly during the zLink deployment.
Resolution
To resolve the issue, install the ZPFilter package independently with Windows administrative privilege as described below:
Admin login to zCenter.
Go to Advanced Management → Project Provisioning → zLink Packages, find ZPFilter listed as zLink Dependency Package under Windows, and click Download button to save the package ZPFilter.exe.
Transfer the package to the target Windows machine and execute it with administrative privilege.
To confirm, check if C:\Windows\System32\drivers\zpfilter.sys exists. To reapply the policy, do either one of the following actions:
Restart the agent, can be found on the target machine’s Task Manager as Zentera Controller Agent, or
Restart the target machine, or
From the Admin Portal’s Manage Servers page, select the target machine and click Force Reconnect icon.
